The location of the Meadows enables guests to separate themselves from home and the potential triggers that cause their addictions.

What is a day like at Meadows Clinic?

At first glance, the Meadows resembles a wide-open desert ranch. A walk through the facility and that first impression quickly changes with the Meadows looking more like a college campus.

Although the clinic is a luxury center, there are aspects that make it feel more like upscale college life. Guests share rooms and a strict dress code is enforced by the staff at the center to prevent sex addicts from being triggered. Clients eat their meals in a cafeteria and sugar and caffeine are off limits.

Clients are given a pager upon arrival to ensure that they are able to make it to classes and meetings on time. Guests are strictly monitored by the staff at the Meadows and residents can receive visitors during their stays, but only 14 days after first arriving.

Days begin with guests choosing between one of three exercise activities: going to the gym, swimming or yoga. After breakfast, clients participate in peer meetings and small-sized group therapy.

A yoga or meditation class and lunch follows., and the afternoons see more physical fitness classes and specified therapy sessions. Dinner is followed by another physical fitness session and a 12-step meeting.

The Meadows Cost

A residential treatment program at the clinic runs for 30 days and costs $54,000. The Meadows does take private health insurance and guests should have their information ready when contacting the facility. The Meadows also offers financing options through Healthcare Lending.

The Meadows Facility

The outside of the center resembles a large desert ranch while the inside looks far more like a college dorm. Guests use the gym and yoga facilities regularly throughout the day and a swimming pool is on campus. All meals are eaten in a cafeteria.
