PROMIS Hay Farm

Located in the English historical village of Nonington, Promis Hay Farm is a residential treatment center. It is built on 12 acres of luscious land, providing beautiful scenes and tranquility to all who visit it. Founded in 1986, the Promis Hay Farm offers treatment for depression, PTSD, eating disorders, gambling addiction, alcoholism, drug abuse, and many more mental health and behavioral conditions.

Promis Hay Farm is a haven for those suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders. The farm offers luxury treatment plans that are customized to the individual needs of their clients, as well offering immediate admission with pickup services all over Europe so you don’t have wait any longer than necessary. They include evidence based therapies such as 1 on 1 therapy, SMART recovery, neurofeedback, EMDR, ACT, CBT & DBT. Promis Hay Farm also provides holistic programs which aim at correcting physical or emotional ailments one may be experiencing.

With a rich and diverse environment, the Promis Hay Farm location is designed to provide comfortable living spaces. The 12-bed home resides in the nature reserves of Kent with amenities including private bedrooms equipped for your healing process as well gourmet chefs on site who can cater meals if needed.

Visitors will enjoy music therapy sessions hosted by master musicians from around Europe or art classes taught by renowned artists during their stay at Promis Hay Farm which offers more than just therapeutic treatments; it’s also an opportunity to relax while surrounded by natural beauty.

Promis Hay Farm food, accommodation, and amenities

At Promis Hay Farm, they believe comfort is key to the recovery process. As such, Promis provides each resident with a private and comfortable room – you can even upgrade to a deluxe suite if you need more space. Each room has a flatscreen TV, an adjoining bathroom, a lot of natural light, and is fully furnished – it comes with a bed, nightstand, dresser, and cozy rug.

Beyond that, you get access to amenities like laundry services, housekeeping, gyms, spas, recreation rooms, a business center, shared laptops, and WiFi. And you can bring any electronics you want into the facility and communicate with the outside world as you please.

There are gourmet chefs and nutritionists on-site who ensure the residents get meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that cater to their nutritional needs. And when a meal is ready, it is served on a large elegant dining table where all residents sit and eat together. Some popular meals at Promis Hay Farm include grilled steak with mushrooms and salmon with mashed potatoes.

Promis Hay Farm Treatment approach

At Promis Hay Farm, the staff to resident ratio is 9:12, providing more than enough staff for all residents. Also, many of the staff are in recovery too, making them more empathetic to the residents’ plight. On top of that, they are all experts in their respective fields.

Some of the professionals present at Promis Hay Farm include physicians, therapists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, personal trainers, and even 24-hour care staff. As such they make it easy for residents to feel safe and cared for.

Before you start treatment at the facility though, you will be required to undergo a detox. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to do this alone – the process is medically assisted and supervised. What’s more? You’ll have access to a jacuzzi, spa, and massage facilities so that you can ease the discomfort of going through detox.

Extra-curricular activities at Promis Hay Farm

At Promis Hay Farm, there are a lot of extra-curricular activities to keep residents occupied. If you love sports, you can do aerobics, yoga, or pilates – you can even take long walks if you want. Alternatively, you can try out table tennis, billiards, horseback riding, quad biking, tennis, and golf.

If you really want to explore the outdoors though, the best activities for you are archery, kayaking, beach walks, paintballing, seal watching, hover crafting, and castle/cathedral trips.  Since the Promis Hay Farm hosts only a few people at a time, trips and activities are easy to organize.

Promis Aftercare

Once you’re done with the treatment program, Promis Hay Farm doesn’t just cut ties with you. They allow you to come back to the center for “top-up” days any time you want within one year of your departure. These top-up days are refresher courses designed to remind you of the mental strategies you learned during the program.

Each resident is allowed a maximum of 24 top-up days and can take up to 7 of them in a row. While you can’t take all your 24 days in a row, you can go to any Promis facility for your top-up day.
