Las Encinas Hospital Rehab Review

Las Encinas Hospital is a rehab facility that focuses on the Briar Program. The Briar Program specializes in substance abuse recovery and is one of the main attractions of Las Encinas Hospital. Although clients seek out Las Encinas Hospital for the Briar Program, it isn’t the only reason clients stay at the rehab center.

Las Encinas Hospital Recovery Center was established in 1904 by founder Dr James McBride. Since its creation, it has been committed to building optimism and hope in the lives of residents. Las Encinas Recovery Center offers clients a wide range of mental health and chemical dependency treatment plans. The hospital works with adolescents and adults.

The rehab is owned by Aurora Behavioral Health and also focuses on treating trauma and substance abuse. Las Encinas Hospital is laid out across 30 acres of land in Pasadena, California. Clients are able to access the gorgeous residential rehab facility in one of California’s most beautiful cities. Las Encinas Hospital provides acute psychiatric care to clients. It is comprised of three residential buildings and admits 22 clients at any one time.

Las Encinas Hospital Rehab is overseen my Medical Director Dr Daniel Suzuki. He has assembled a staff of experts to treat clients suffering from substance abuse, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Clients will undergo medically assisted detox, psychiatric and psychological evaluation, and be given a personalized treatment plan. Clients will undergo group and individual therapy sessions, CBT, mindfulness classes, and meditation. There are other forms of therapy available giving clients the chance to heal fully.

What is a day like at Las Encinas Recovery Center?

The day typically starts around 7:30 AM with breakfast. Afterwards, clients exercise, have a personal break time, experience their therapy groups and one-on-one sessions with a psychiatrist, and have visiting hours with guests. Clients finish the day at 8:30 PM.

Las Encinas Recovery Center bases its treatment of residents on the 12-step model. The Briar Program is offered by the rehab giving clients a holistic healing approach. The program incorporates interventions to improve a resident’s healing. A resident’s core aspects of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health are focused on during the program.

Each client has an individualized recovery plan. Residents will experience one-to-one therapy, group sessions, exercise, mindfulness, CBT, and evidence-based therapies. There are also music, horticulture, and art therapy classes onsite.

Las Encinas Recovery Center provides a detox period of seven days once a client is admitted. After the seven-day detox program is finished, clients move onto the long-term residential portion of their stay. Individualized programs are developed by Las Encinas Recovery Center’s staff to meet the needs of the residents.

Each day, residents attend up to four group therapy sessions, recreational therapy, and psychoeducation. The aim of the center is for clients to engage in their sessions and focus on recovering. CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing are available and 12-step meetings are conducted in the evenings onsite. Clients may receive aftercare for up to one year after graduating from Las Encinas.
